Benagil Beach
Located in the small fishing village of Benagil, in the municipality of Lagoa, the beach is known for its caves and landscapes.
With an increased sandy beach since 2014, golden sand and a water temperature between 22ºC and 24ºC, this beach is highly sought after as it is considered one of the most beautiful of the Portuguese South coast.
For those who like adventure, there are several activities related to the sea, such as a boat trip to the Benagil caves, Stand Up Paddle (SUP), dolphin watching, or even kayaking. These activities can be done with family or friends.Â
The beach has in its surroundings several restaurants and hotels, as well as the beach of Marinha.Â
Typically, it is a frequent destination among the choices of Portuguese tourists, who enjoy the so-called Blue Center, the place that gives life to the town, with bars and several restaurants, mainly of fish.Â
Being a very popular place during the summer season, it is known for its easy access, as well as for the parking near its large sandy beach.Â
The proximity to Vilamoura, the most refined area of the Algarve, increases the interest in Quarteira.Â
The city is also home to one of the biggest attractions in the region, Aquashow Park, the largest water park in the country, which is located 4km from the beach.
In the marginal area, the long Avenida is suitable for those who like to walk along the beach.
Luz Beach
This beach, located in the historic municipality of Lagos, is close to an extensive cliff, where the sand is also made of white sand.Â
In terms of tourism, this beach is visited annually by many foreign tourists, from countries like Spain, England or France.Â
The waterfront area is equipped with several benches, for relaxing along a beautiful promenade overlooking the sea and its indistinguishable palm trees.Â
The water on this beach is known for being very crystal clear, practically transparent, and also receiving the blue flag.
Praia da Rocha
Finally, one of the best known beaches of the Algarve is located in the municipality of Portimão.
The name “Praia da Rocha” is justified by the existence of large rocks between the sea and the sand
This is full of accommodation in its proximity and is next to several leisure spaces, from bars to restaurants, as well as the Casino de Portimão. It is therefore a very touristy area.
Both its water and area are among the cleanest in the Algarve region.-
